Ok, ok, I'm Back!
. . . nope, you did not scare me Crikit!
I love ALL DWBs . . . woof!
but I decided to post my new blahs in a new blogsite.
(NOTE: All DWBs, check my new address at bone zone)
This blog will mainly focus on my SuperDog Projek.
Just scroll down other posts to know what this is all about.
Woof Updates:
1. When Keeper tried to report to the Barangay using the "hotline" they gave Keeper, the woman who answered is pretty clueless. Keeper SMS the barangay head but no response. FYI: the barangay has not installed the huge tarpaulin Keeper gave them which is driving Keeper mad! Woof! Watch out for Keeper when she starts marching down your office soon guys!
2. Keeper kept following up with the municipal councilor whose committee handles animal welfare concerns. The man returned Keeper's call but told Keeper he will study the report first. Lesson: Sure, the Mayor supports you but that's about it . . . Watch out for Keeper when she goes marching up your office too, Mayor!
3. Keeper wants to report a black mongrel dog owned by a resident along Rainbow Avenue. Keeper went to the owner and the owner (a family with children) told Keeper that the dog would escape when the gate is open (duh?). . . Keeper requested the lady owner of the house to remind the kids "to close the gate" (duh again?) and make sure the dog stays put or else pay the fine. But every day the dog goes running down Rainbow Avenue, peeing on everybody's property, scrounging and spreading trash (and possibly viruses! woof!) and the owner does not give a hoot. The kids don't give a hoot either . . .
4. Talk about the kid owners of this black dog. The children all study in a nearby private school where Keeper tried several times to talk with the School's Principal. Well, Keeper succeeded once and since it was a holiday and the poor lady is saddled with teacher's meeting and all, asked Keeper to wait till January. Well, it is January 2008 now (waaah!) and Keeper is still waiting . . . Kids from that school practically violate all the stuff I'm working on which is RA8485 or the Animal Welfare Act (some of their students own dogs which they neglect, abandon, and like "notorious blacky" allowed to roam the street, the Anti-Littering law, and the ban on pellet guns. Well, kids learn from schools, parents and guardians. If these kids behave poorly, maybe the authority figures are not in place . . .
5. Keeper is completing her phase report to submit to the Animal Welfare Division. (Paging Dr. Mateo! The local government down Rainbow Avenue is a dud!) . . .
6. But there's good news. (At least!) Tutti Frutti, a yummy mongrel who use to take morning walks with his Keeper down Rainbow Avenue without a leash is now sporting a handsome leash and tries to keep in step with his Keeper who walks slowly because of some ailment. You see Keeper talked to the owner and the owner understood and without a fuss had kept to keeping law and order in the community by sticking to the rules. Intelligent and educated people does not need enough blahs to understand and support ordinances. Woof! Kudos, Tutti Frutti, Libby and Johnny! I give you ten paws up, drools and hugs . . . Keeper, can we give Tutti-Frutti a squeaky toy?
7. PLUS, ten paws up for the public school nearby, the Pacita National High School and its dynamic headmistress, Mrs. Umaclap, who lost no time in sending Keeper to address all the students before the start of classes one morning in December. Please note that this school like all the others are equally BUSY during the holidays but it takes a responsible and caring authority figure to give priority to urgent matters. Kudos also to their students who Keeper caught voluntarily cleaning the school grounds while waiting for classes to begin. If that is not cool I don't know what is. Hey, Keeper, can you give Mayla, Rowena and Evelyn free art workshops for being such great kids! Hey girls, Keeper said yes. See you in Heaven one of these days!
Meantime, my popsy Sumo is all eyes and ears too.
Don't tell him, but he is my Deputy.
My hyperactive popsy is actually the one who blabbers about roaming dogs to Keeper. Oh, btw, all roaming dogs (without a leash and companion) are STRAYS (or askals or "asong Kalye") . . . even if your dog is a purebreed something and registered somewhere. . . The dog is an Askal if he roams the street (woof, that's why they are called strays, people!) . . .
But the law and its proper implementation is still forthcoming.
So while waiting for this death-defying act,
Sumo dutifully reports to Keeper.
Keeper documents the incidents in her files.
Sumo is handling my SuperDog chores . . .
. . . while I watch over my sick, old mumsy Pica
who seems to have acquired the alarming habit
of straying out of her warm house
and sleeping anywhere and everywhere
around our house Heaven and catching cold and what-not!
Keeper pats me for being such a caring pup.
But more important than the pats,
there is nothing more I want
than to see my mumsy Pica pain-free,
comfortable and eating normally
which she is doing at the moment . . .
. . . as long as I keep watch . . .
and as long as Keeper is around
to make sure we're all OK. . .
. . and thanks DWBs for keeping watch as well . . .
