Keeper's Honeypies

Heaven houses more creatures
and attracts all sorts of beings
who can not help but stray
into heaven's perimeter walls. . .

stray cats can not help
but laze their furry self
along heaven's walls, roof, trees . . .
and the houndsinheaven
starts barking like mad . . .

hey, guys, no killing of animals!
keeper yells at us.

so far we have made friends
with most of them since
we really do not have much choice
not unless you want to get the ire of thy keeper

so aside from us hounds, there's spiderpie

it is this genius architect whose creative web
would always brush my nose during my dawn jog around heaven. . .

and watch our for butterpie

this blabbermouth loves to blah
about anything and anyone
and yaks wherever she goes
which makes keeper laugh
and cry (she once told keeper some sad news)
and before butterpie exhaust her pie
she's off to flutter somewhere
probably to get more scoop and blahs
to bring back to heaven . . .

and then there's Troy, the lizardpie

(Keeper would always remind Troy of his duty
as mosquito watcher which is Troy's fave chowmeal)

. . .there's also birdiepie, and dragonpie . . .

. . . and batpie. aha, beware of this one
he only flies to keeper's window at night. . .

he's kinda blind, sweepy! get off his case!

Other honey-pies:
Although we have not personally seen them
keeper loves to tell us stories about other
animal-pies she meets outside of heaven:

there's Queenie in her pristine white gown

it is she who loves to eat corn and hiss you off
when you attempt to get too near for comfort!

and Ben who was given as a gift to someone

but whose brother Van remained.
Ben and Van looked exactly like twins
They started sprouting those black dots a week after they were born!

and then there was Buddy . . .

the golden retriever who gets terribly lonely
when his keeper goes on vacation abroad

and others like Arthur, Chester,
Bianca, Cokey, Phoebe & Diva . . .
my Keeper loves to tell us their stories . . .
who knows, she might be telling them our stories as well. . .

but keeper has a big heart
so there's nothing for us to get jealous about
when she talks lovingly of all these honeypies
that makes her world go round. . .

anyway, at the end of the day
it is always at heaven where she returns
and where great stories are told
and re-told like sweet, hot pies
on dreary August month . . .
