Time Flies . . .

I am in DENIAL.
We are now in the BER months.
Remember septemBER, octoBER,
novemBER and soon decemBER!
Yikes, the loonies will be back
if they are not here already.

You know just like last year
and the years before that.
BER are the frenzy months.
BER months are when people
rush everywhere in preparation
for the coming decemBER.

And December is the height of the frenzy
gifts, parties, reunions, fireworks!
Yikes!
And firecrackers as early as October!
As if everybody is practicing
and flexing their fingers
on better ways to light up
a freaking show of smoke and noise.

Oh, my poor, poor eardrums.
My poor, old mumsy Pica
My shaking-in-fear popsy Sumo
and never mind Bogart
because the bloke seems
to be wearing an ear plug or something
because Bogart does not seem afraid
of firecrackers and fireworks.
Either Bogart is plain dumb, deaf,
completely dopey or (aghast!)
he completely likes the blasting noise!


Bogart is not the hyper type, Sweepy.
Bogart is pretty cool about it
unlike you and Sumo who goes ballistic
over anything freaky as firecrackers.
You should not mind them.
They will never ever hurt you
while I am the Keeper of the Hounds.
As for Pica, she's old and naturally jittery.

That paw-fully great.
But come December
when the blasting noise
comes regularly every minute?
I will truly go mad this time.
Arf! I'll go nuts, Keeper!
Waaah!


No you won't, Sweepy.
You will be brave and always stay
by your big brother's side
or cuddle near Pica
when the noise gets to you.
Remember this will all pass.
December will soon pass
and the firecrackers and noise
will not matter that much.
Think of the bright side.
Think of the gifts you'll receive.
The parties, the people,
the carols, the fun
and our camping together
during NewYear's eve.
It will be fun . . .
